Assistance Prevention, Retention & Contingency
The Prevention, Retention and Contingency (PRC) program is designed to assist low-income families with necessary resources to:
- Prevent families from having to apply for OWF cash assistance
- Help families retain employment
- Provide for contingent needs by helping families with non-reoccurring urgent problems.
Employment Related PRC Services
- Employment
- Work support services
(car repair, car purchase, work boots or clothing, tools) - Education and training
- Transportation services
Short Term Assistance
- Housing and rent assistance
- Utility assistance
- Transportation assistance
- Education and training programs
- Counseling
Limits
$1,450 per household per 18 month period
Eligibility
PRC services are available for families with children younger than 18 years of age and pregnant women in their 3rd trimester that meet federal income limits (at or below):

What Do I Have To Do?
- Cooperate with a self sufficiency contract
- Be able to meet your monthly expense after PRC approval
- Complete all of your responsibilities on your self sufficiency contract
How Do I Apply?
- Come to our office or call to ask for an application
- Print your own application (include one that can be printed-in house PRC application)
- Complete the application
- Bring to our office during regular business hours
- Mail or fax your application to us
- A PRC worker will contact you to discuss your application.
