How long does the foster care/adoption process take?

Once you have decided to make the commitment to become a foster or adoptive parent, training should be scheduled. Pre-service trainings are offered several times a year at different locations. There are 24 hours of pre-service training hours needed to become licensed to foster. Our agency requests that an additional 9 hours of training be completed in order to become licensed to foster to adopt. You may also choose to adopt without fostering.
